EPISODE 1 - Discipline as an act of self-love

Hello, my name is Emmy, the Founder of Allure Community and I am very happy to welcome you to this very first episode of The Glow O'Clock .
Every Sunday, this newsletter will be our little wellness rendezvous: a moment to slow down, reflect, and move forward together towards a more aligned, more confident, more luminous version of ourselves. It's our weekly safe place . ✨

Exceptionally, the full article will be available on the site today, but to receive episode 2, simply subscribe to the newsletter by leaving your email in the form at the end of the article. It's 100% free, and you'll receive your episode directly in your inbox!

And to begin this adventure, I chose an essential theme, often misunderstood, sometimes feared... but nevertheless profoundly liberating: discipline . 🌸

We often associate discipline with something rigid, cold, almost punitive. But what if we changed our perspective? What if imposing a framework on ourselves wasn't about repressing ourselves... but about protecting ourselves? What if discipline was simply another way of loving ourselves ?

Because let's be honest: we're not always motivated.
And that's normal. Motivation comes and goes, depending on mood, the weather, hormones, and our energy levels for the day. But discipline remains.
She is the one who holds our hand when motivation no longer responds. ✨

What I've learned is that discipline isn't a mindset for "tough" or "overly serious" people. It's a gift you give yourself.
An act of love. A show of respect for our future “us .” 💕

When we are disciplined, we create an environment in which our projects can flourish. We begin to trust ourselves, to build a routine that elevates us. It is little by little that we become this best version of ourselves. Personally, being in my final year of dental surgery, I went through ups and downs in terms of motivation, but the mindset that has kept me going since the beginning of these 6 years of studies is really telling myself that each small change, each daily action builds the future version of myself that will thank me.

Perhaps you know the 1% rule ?
The idea that small choices repeated every day can create immense results? That's exactly the magic of discipline. It's not spectacular, but it's powerful, because it's by building ourselves up a little bit each day that we build up big. 🌟

To go further, I think that the way we view discipline is often misguided. In my opinion, being disciplined is not about “forcing yourself to do something.”
It's about giving yourself the means to succeed, even when it's uncomfortable, even when no one is watching. It's about building your own stability, and laying a solid foundation for your dreams. ✨

And above all: it is believing that you deserve to see your projects through to the end.
Not to impress anyone, but just because you can. I think we are our own competition . Obviously, we shouldn't go to extremes of pressure, but I think discipline reflects telling yourself that every day, you can move forward a little more than yesterday. Even if it's just 10 minutes of Pilates, 10 minutes of review.
Got a project in mind, but don't have time or don't know where to start? Start with 10 minutes, and then 10 minutes the next day, and so on.

Over time, these micro-actions will become habits, and you'll be building the best version of yourself without even realizing it. It's in this consistency that the magic happens: each small gesture makes you a person closer to the version you want to be. 💖

So this week, I invite you to ask yourself a simple question:

“What is one thing I can do every day to bring me even 1% closer to the person I want to become?” 🌸

And then, stick to it.
Slowly but surely. ✨

See you next Sunday,
Emmy 💕
