EPSIODE 4 - The Morning Routine that Boosts Your Motivation and Productivity
Hello,
I'm delighted to be back with you for this episode 4 of The Glow O'Clock . Today, we're talking about a topic that changes everything in my daily life: the morning routine.⭐️
For me, it's a quiet moment , where I take care of myself before the world even starts to turn. I've even learned to get up earlier to enjoy this stress-free moment: to settle down, structure my day, set my intentions, and start off on the right foot. This little ritual has had a real impact on my productivity, my energy, and even my motivation. And inevitably, when you start off well, your entire daily life benefits.
There is a book that has inspired me a lot in this area, it is The Miracle Morning by Hal Elrod . This book transformed my vision of mornings. Elrod proposes six pillars to start the day in an optimal way: meditation, affirmations, visualization, exercise, reading, and writing. It may seem like a lot, but in fact, the magic of this book is that it invites you to adapt these pillars to your own rhythm and to what resonates most with you 🌸
Of course, you have to keep in mind that every day is different, and a morning routine doesn't need to be perfect. What I'm sharing here is simply an example. The important thing is to test , listen to your needs and build a routine that really suits you, without comparing yourself to others. I'm showing you what works for me, but it's up to you to adapt it at your own pace .
So here are my steps in my morning routine:
1. Get up at a fixed time ⏰
This is the basis. Having a stable schedule helps regulate your internal clock and promotes a natural awakening. For me, if I have a bad morning or start the day stressed, I know it impacts my mood and my entire day. So I always make sure to wake up at the same time. And for that, I prepare my to-do list the night before: it allows me to know exactly what time to get up, and to be calm.
2. Hydration, breakfast and coffee 🫐☕️
I start by drinking a large glass of water to gently wake my body up. Then I have a balanced breakfast, which I didn't do at all before. And honestly, I've seen a real difference: better concentration, more energy, fewer cravings. It's become a real moment of pleasure. I often accompany it with coffee or matcha, depending on my mood.
3. Journaling and Gratitude 📖
Taking five to ten minutes to write has become my favorite part of the morning . I write down how I'm feeling, what I want for the day, and three things I'm grateful for. It helps me center myself, start the day in a positive frame of mind, and feel aligned. Last week, I talked to you about manifestation: this journaling moment is a concrete form of daily manifestation.
4. Meditation or Prayer 🧘🏻♀️
Taking a few minutes to breathe deeply, meditate, or pray can transform the energy of your day. Meditation helps calm the mind, improve focus , and reduce stress . And for people of faith, prayer is also a powerful moment to reconnect with themselves and what is beyond them. It doesn't matter what form it takes: what matters is having a little moment of inner grounding.
5. Avoid scrolling as soon as you wake up ☀️
I know: it's hard. But I really try not to reach for my phone as soon as I open my eyes. When I do, I can immediately feel it disrupting me. I'd love to get an alarm clock that simulates sunlight, so I don't have to use my phone as an alarm. This kind of soft light respects the body's natural rhythm, and it's much better for my morning mood.
6. Move your body 🎀
Last year, I had a very structured routine: I did Pilates first thing in the morning, before going to class, and it really made a difference in my energy and mental clarity. Now, my sessions are mostly in the studio and spread out throughout the day, but I still remember the sense of well-being it brought me.
And after all that… I get ready!
Only then do I start putting on my makeup, choosing my outfit, and really "getting into" my day. I already feel aligned, serene, and ready to take on the day.
✨Your challenge this week: Try this routine for a week. Get up at a set time, prepare your to-do list the night before, start your day with water, a good breakfast, and limit your exposure to your phone. Add some journaling and a moment of centering—meditation or prayer—and note how you feel as the days go by.✨
I hope this episode has inspired you to rethink your morning routine and adapt it to what really makes you feel good.
